School Photos

My parents still have all of my school photos hanging on the wall in the hallway. Each year my hair was just a little bit different, and I can see the progression through braces, a crazy perm, and my awkward 6th grade year with short hair. Seeing the change from a shy kindergarten girl to a brave senior in high school is quite dramatic and nostalgic.

I am a homeschool mom and have had my kids participate in vendor-led classes, charter schools, co-ops, and friend groups. There isn’t a consistent setting each year, except our house, and as a result, I don’t have a posed school photo for each year. And I can bet that most homeschool families don’t have one either!

During this fall, with schools reinventing their education system in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, I had to get creative with my strategy for getting school photos taken for families. Many parents still really want that classic photo that shows yearly growth. I set up a few meet times at a local park, brought hand sanitizer and wore a mask, and kept my distance while I capture those beautiful grins.

If you have a student in Cabrillo Point Academy, Mission Vista Academy, or Pacific Coast Academy, check out all the appointments for Fall 2022 and sign up for your appointment today.

And I always make time for sibling photos together because there is just nothing cuter than kids with their faces smushed together!
