Snapshot of a Fall Mini Session

The air was turning crisp as the calendar was getting close to the Christmas season. I woke up one morning realizing, this is the time when families want to get a great photo. The turning of the seasons is a good reminder to capture our family in all our glory – or at least get a good photo for the holiday card!

A beautiful grove of trees at The Great Park in Irvine became the setting for my fall mini sessions in 2018. Each family that signed up was given a 20-minute time slot and directions on where to meet me. As we entered the grove, the light became muted and soft and the trees provided the perfect backdrop. 

Twenty Minutes

Can magic really happen in twenty short minutes? Yes, yes it can! Mini sessions are the perfect way to capture a great group portrait, a few stolen moments for the parents, and a couple of fun sibling shots.

With each family, I like to encourage natural and fun interaction. I generally ask parents to hold hands with their children, to walk through the grass towards me, to sit on a blanket, or to dance under the trees. All the while, I prompt easy and fun conversations. 

5 Digital Images

After the photo session, I will edit the hundred or so photos I have taken for best lighting and skin tones, and then deliver approximately 20-30 images to my online gallery. Clients get a direct look at all of their images and they get to choose their favorites. 5 full-size images are included in the mini session package. Additional images are available for a small fee. Clients can order prints directly from the excellent photo lab on my gallery or they can print at a printer of their choice with the full-size images.

Sweet Moments of Connection

It’s amazing how much can be captured in just 20 minutes. Mom loved cuddling with her children and the siblings had fun whispering funny secrets to each other. The beautiful evening light dotted the trees and burst through the boughs. I pulled mom and dad aside for a few quiet moments without the kids. They seemed to love the time to smile at each other and connect with their love. Their expressions of joy and togetherness have been captured and now can be treasured forever.
